The supercomputer at Virginia Tech is an amazing accomplishment. 1100 Xserve G5’s clustered together to form one of the most powerful supercomputers on the planet says a lot about Apple’s hardware. At a fraction of the cost Virginia Tech has delivered a tremendous tool to scientists that will undoubtedly make serious discoveries in science a probable outcome. If this is truly the case, and I believe it is, shouldn’t Apple underwrite the cost of giving every American University the same power?
